Passau with Kids
Passau delights the little ones too: the Veste Oberhaus is a real knights' castle to explore, a three-rivers cruise shows from the water how the Danube, Inn and Ilz come together, and the Glass Museum enchants with sparkling treasures. We explore the fortress in the morning, take a boat around the headland, have lunch and in the afternoon discover the Glass Museum and the riverbanks.

Veste Oberhaus — a castle to explore
The mighty Veste Oberhaus is an adventure for children: thick walls, battlements, towers and the Oberhaus Museum with hands-on knight and city history. From the viewpoint the children hunt for the cathedral, the boats and the three rivers.
Tip: Take the Veste shuttle bus from the town hall square — the steep castle hill is tiring for short legs otherwise.

Lunch in the old town
Around the town hall square there are easygoing places with children's menus, ice-cream parlours and cafes — a good break before the boat trip.

Three-rivers cruise at the Three Rivers Corner
The popular three-rivers cruise departs from the landing stage on the Danube promenade. From the water, children experience how the three differently coloured rivers come together at the Three Rivers Corner — exciting and never dull.
Tip: The cruise lasts about 45 minutes — ideal for younger children's attention spans.

Glass Museum
The Glass Museum in the historic Hotel Wilder Mann holds the largest collection of Bohemian glass in the world. Sparkling cabinets, bright colours and delicate shapes fascinate children too — the warren of rooms invites discovery.

To finish, meadows and playgrounds by the Danube, an ice cream from the stand and boat-watching. A relaxed wind-down for young and old by the water.
