About Passau-Land
Passau-Land is an independent portal for the Lower Bavarian City of Three Rivers, Passau, and the surrounding Passau region. We bring together in one place what visitors and locals really want to know about Passau: attractions, hotels, restaurants, districts, events and the cultural life around St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Veste Oberhaus fortress and the Three Rivers Corner where the Danube, Inn and Ilz meet. Our goal is a fast, clearly labelled overview instead of confusing link lists.
Our editorial standards
Every attraction, hotel and restaurant is selected editorially and described with our own contextual text — not pulled automatically from directories. We apply transparent criteria: relevance to Passau and the Passau region, location within its district or part of the region, price orientation and an honest assessment of who a place is worth it for. We check opening hours, price anchors and similar details to the best of our knowledge, but cannot guarantee they are up to date — in case of doubt, the official source of the respective provider always applies.
How we select content
Our selection follows a curated approach: we include places that characterise Passau or are practically relevant for a stay — from the baroque old town and the districts of the Passau region to major occasions such as the Maidult fair, the European Weeks festival or the Christmas market by the cathedral. The order and prominence of entries is based on editorial judgement, not on paid placement.
