Bruckwirt
The Bruckwirt lies idyllically in the Ilzstadt district, near the bank of the green Ilz, which because of its dark, peaty colour is also called the 'black pearl river'. While the Danube and Inn are the city's great, broad streams, the Ilz has a character all its own, close to nature, and it is exactly this mood that shapes the inn too. The shady beer garden right by the water and the cosy, wood-panelled parlours make the Bruckwirt a popular place to stop and a favourite excursion destination.
In the kitchen the house relies on down-to-earth regional cooking: fresh fish from the Ilz and the three rivers, hearty snacks with a cold-cut platter and Obatzda, classic roasts and changing seasonal specials. Freshly tapped beer is served alongside. The fair price level and the easygoing, warm hospitality fit perfectly with the inn's excursion character.
The Bruckwirt is especially valued by hikers and cyclists, for the green Ilz valley is a popular starting point for tours towards the Bavarian Forest and along the unspoilt riverbanks. Anyone seeking the calm and nature of northern Passau, wanting to escape the old-town bustle and sit by the water, will find a relaxed, family-friendly spot here that pleasantly combines good food with the experience of nature.
